Joseph, a heavy sleeper(!), had a good dream one day.

In the dream, he went to the field with his brothers, and their sheaves bowed to Joseph's. After a while, Joseph had another dream. The sun, the moon, and the ten stars bowed to Joseph.

God gave these dreams to Joseph to let him know what blessings would come upon him later. Sometimes, before God grants someone blessings, he vaguely shows the contents of the blessing to the person in advance to cause him to live a good and clean life and be prepared for the blessing.

The contents of the blessings of God became Joseph's hope, and Joseph lived a clean life in a harsh world.

At last, the blessings came upon Joseph. The first dream which was about sheaves was about food. Joseph advised Egypt to store up a lot of grain, and saved the lives of his household and Egyptians. His family and Egyptians paid great respect to Joseph who gave them food. The second dream was about stars. Stars are in the high places, which mean honor and power. Joseph was exalted high, next to the king. Egyptians and Joseph's household had to bow to him who had been raised so high.

God planned to give Joseph economic power and political power, and got him to dream like that. When Joseph received such dreams, he lived honestly as God taught him (through his parents), received the blessing as he had dreamed, used God's blessings to save others, and gave glory to God.

God, the King of all nations, bless us also with the blessings of Joseph. I prayed in the name of Jesus. Amen!
