Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism, acknowledging that he was a simple man, left a teaching to the people, "Don't rely on others, even on gods, but realize the truth yourself, live yourself, and deliver yourself by yourself." This is why Buddhism has not disappeared but survives even today. If Sakyamuni had said, "I'm omnipotent, depend on me to live," Buddhism would never existed until now, for his assertion is but a big talk.
Jesus, the founder of Christianity, is the Almighty God, so he could boldly say, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Mt11:28). I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me (Jn 14:6). He who believes in me has eternal life (Jn 3:36)." Christianity has survived until now although Jesus said such amazing words, because he said the truth.
