Cows become human food, which means that they die in pain to be consumed to prolong human life. Jesus said to his disciples that he who ate his flesh and drank his blood would obtain eternal life. So Jesus distributed bread and wine to his disciples the day before the crucifixion and said that the wine and the bread are his flesh and blood, that they should remember his death and celebrate the sacrament later.
Jesus said thereby that he would give eternal life to all the believers through the suffering of tearing his flesh and of shedding his blood on the cross. All human beings must die for their sins and suffer eternal hell, but they get eternal life if they, believing that Jesus was crucified for their sins, receive Jesus as their Lord. Of course, this means that they will live in beatitude forever in heaven.
It's actually insulting to be someone else's food. You would feel much insulted if someone says to you, "You be chewed and eaten!" It was with a lot of humility and love that Jesus himself said he would be the food for the believers. The Father exalted humans very high when he gave them his only begotten Son for food. In general, the food is lower than the eater. A cow is lower than a human being because the latter eats the former. Considering this, in a way, God the Father sacrificed Jesus, the Son, for the benefit of human beings, giving him to them for food. Since God has exalted us so high like that, we should give thanks to God for his love and live the holiest life in response to God's expectations. How sorry it would be if we eat the flesh of Jesus and live lowly!
It is for our benefit that Jesus himself became low and suffered. Therefore, we must lower ourselves the more before him and serve him as our Lord and worship him.
