Theology tolerating homosexuality is wrong (and perverse)

A bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church of USA, a gay, continues to carry out his holy duties these days. And some of the presses in South Korea dare to issue false reports as if Christianity approved homosexuality. They are but irresponsible reports of those who don't know Christianity.

 

Heretics of past were heretics because they made false doctrines about the being of God. They were heretics, too, because they uttered reckless predictions out of their own false beliefs. Today, in the day of liberty, heresies appear in relation to human behaviour. He is a modern heretic who says that the Bible approves homosex and that we must allow homosex in accordance with new interpretation of the Bible for new era, (a liberal era).

 

We should thoroughly understand the principles of the interpretation of Bible. We must first take the situation of the time when the Bible was written into consideration, and then find the true meaning of the words of the Bible. For example, the law that a sinner is to be forgiven his sin by sprinkling victim's blood on the altar is not to be literally observed in the modern circumstances. However, reinterpreting the law, we are assured that we are forgiven by believing in Jesus who suffered for our sins. There is an exhortation in the Bible for women not to teach and to keep silent in church, an exhortation out of the situation that for women to rule in the church was not regarded as virtuous. Today a woman may teach in church. The question that arose when the word was written was not the inability of women but the morals of the time which forbade them to speak publicly. Now the morals of women have been changed, so they are free to teach in church and do not violate the law, because Bible expressly affirms also the equality of man and woman.

 

What is important in the Bible interpretation is human freedom and happiness. In accordance with this criterion, (one of the important criteria,) a book is to be numbered in, or excluded from, the Bible, and the interpretation of the text is altered. Israelites were not permitted to associate with heathen in the formative years of their religion, or they would certainly be slaves of sins they might learn from the heathen. However, when Israel's religion was fully established, it had some other meaning concerning the heathen. Israel's religion should deliver the heathen from their sins. So the heathen also could be recognized as the children of God (when conditions were satisfied), and the New Testament also rebuffs the ideology of 'God's chosen people' and the exclusive religious belief of Israel. So the separation between Israel and heathen disappeared in the New Testament.

 

Therefore the argument that claims we should interpret the Bible in agrement with the context of time and that homosexuality should be allowed can not provide a rationale. Homosex cannot be allowed even in terms of culture since even nowadays most people regard it as a behaviour of corrupt culture or mental disease. In addition, homosexualists can not taste normal human happiness. Furthermore they are thoroughly excluded from society to a severer loss of freedom than in jail. Above all, both the Old Testament and the New Testament judge homosexuality to be sin! As long as it is sin to depart from God and worship idols, the homosexuality, too, is a horrible sin. Homosex, which is against sound human culture, gives man no true happiness, and robs man completely of freedom, is a forbidden sin, no matter how you interpret the Bible anew. Therefore he who says homosex must be allowed is heretic.

 

Then how do we understand the problem of gay bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church of USA? First of all I want to say his immorality. He must have been in mental disorder and had homosexual tendencies. But he hid it and married a woman, and later even became a clergyman. Then he divorced his wife without justification, and after divorce, doing homosex (with a man), even became a bishop. What a vicious behaviour! Then why on earth should that evil man become a bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church of USA? It was God's judgment on the corruption of Americans. Americans of sexual depravity must be led by an evil gay bishop (as a punishment)!
