Before there is gene identification, how could you know that he(your father) was really your father? A man says, "You are my son," and you live with him, believe and obey him. And he recognizes you as his own son and loves you. And, seeing all this, you come to feel that he is your father truly.
You cannot see the God with eyes because he who created the world is not a material being. Someone tries to meet God through great spiritual experience or fantasy, but this is a very dangerous attitude, because even a demon can disguise himself as a great god and seduce you.
God the Creator who made the beautiful world and man took delight in them. And he wrote in 'the Scripture' the knowledge for men to know him. The Bible says that God the Creator is our spiritual father, and includes God's promise that he will give everlasting life to those who live a virtuous life according to his commandments. Therefore, if you 'believe' the God to be your spiritual father as the Bible says and live according to the word of God, you will come to realize that the God (as your real spiritual father) leads you to live a beautiful, happy, and righteous life. Of course, you can meet the God through dreams and visions or directly. But it is a very special case.
