2 Sam 21:1-14

David asked God why the famine lasted for three years in his kingdom. God said that it was because king Saul, his predecessor, had harmed the Gibeonites so much that they were still bearing spite against him, so the disaster befell the country.

So David called the Gibeonites and asked them what he should do. They said, "Hand over seven men from Saul's house, We will execute them." David granted their wish, and since then, God heard Israel's prayers and let the famine cease.

What's David's great point? The great point in David is that he tried to find out the very cause of the problem, and that he did as God told him to do. Actually, it was difficult for David to obey God's word. First of all, there might be not a few people who thought that God's punishment had come upon the country because David was not a good king. In the meantime, people would greatly misunderstand if David obeyed the word of God and ordered the execution of 7 male members of Saul's house. "Perhaps he meant to appease the public sentiment by blaming the descendants of the predecessor for the problem of this country?" "After all, he has retaliated his political opponent, taking advantage of the country's confusion. But we admit that Saul tormented David a lot!"

But David obeyed exactly as God pointed out. Perhaps David voluntarily played the villain(!) to establish God's justice.

A true worker of God does not think of his face when it comes to God's will. However, God eventually puts a crown on such a faithful worker.

Politicians in the Republic of Korea should do their best to establish God's righteousness. First of all, they have to execute the condemned prisoners of death. And they must wipe out all the evil homosexuals from this land. David's blessing come to the politicians who strive to obey God's will!
