Jesus taught us that if an evil man strikes us on the right cheek, we should turn to him the other also (Mt 5: 39) so that he could slap us on the left cheek easily; because we must not lose our life while resisting when we have no strength. Then, what's the result? The judgment of this evil man falls into God's hand. Strong is God who created tigers and lions, so the wicked who have fallen into his hand are throughly retaliated. He who continues to bully meek Christians for fun is making the worst choice.

However, sometimes in our life, we are harassed by some people who are not evil, those who are obsessed with misunderstanding and ignorance. What should we do in this case? We must correct the wrong thoughts of them. It is not the attitude of those who know the truth, to continue to condone such ignorance and misunderstanding, and to let them keep sinning and increase their sins. Especially in this case, Christians should be the light and the salt in the world.

Now, what if some evil man viciously interferes with the preaching of the Christian gospel? In this case, should we yield to this wicked one and give up preaching the gospel? No! The right cheek and the left cheek refer to only the owner of the cheeks. If an evil man bullies you physically, mentally, and financially, it's an aggression on the things belonging to you, so you could have an attitude of accepting your losses by turning your left cheek to him. But the mission and the passion for evangelism are not our own, but the gift of the Holy Spirit in us. This does not belong to us, so we must resist those who would rob us of the mission, and even risk our lives to preach the gospel to them. The spirit of martyrdom is what is required at this time. When an evil one tries to set fire to your church, you must not keep your eyes open and just watch. Because the church is not ours, but God's.

Think of Saul the Apostle. As he preached the gospel, a demon-possessed woman kept chasing him and disturbing him. Paul drove out the demon, and kept preaching. Bible tells us that we are God's soldiers, and it commands us to preach the gospel in season or out of season, whenever we get some opportunity.
